Remote Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)

Description:

• Deel is seeking a Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating businesses in hiring globally.
• The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to contribute to product planning, development, and deployment.
• Responsibilities include developing new features, API’s, improving products, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
• The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript syntax, SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, ORM libraries like Sequelize, and AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS).
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer is required.
• Desired qualities include excelling in application design, coding, testing, and maintenance, thriving in a remote-first work culture, embracing independence, taking ownership of projects, and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Additional brownie points for experience with SaaS products, serverless app architecture on AWS, TypeScript, distributed teams, and FinTech knowledge.

Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
• Proficiency in JavaScript syntax.
• Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, and ORM libraries like Sequelize.
• Familiarity with AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS; knowledge of GCP or Azure is a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
