Remote Backend Engineer - O11y, Asserts (Remote, EMEA)

Description:

• The backend team at Asserts.ai, now part of Grafana Labs, is responsible for building and operating low-latency microservices in Java and Graph DB databases.
• The services provide automated Root Cause Insights by querying Grafana Cloud Metrics, Traces, and Logs databases and integrating with Grafana platform components.
• Asserts services are multi-tenant, highly available, and process and store data in Graph and Timeseries DB.
• The team will be rolling out services to thousands of self-service customers, aiming to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency as they grow.
• The role involves driving projects from ideation to operations, taking on complex challenges, maintaining critical systems, participating in on-call rotations, mentoring team members, and learning new skills.

Requirements:

• Solid Java programming experience is required as Asserts services are built on Java.
• Experience working on a big SaaS platform dealing with distributed systems problems like scalability, multi-tenancy, and HA is necessary.
• Previous experience with K8s or a public Cloud for operating software is essential.
• Passion for writing clean, robust, and performant software is a must.
• Prior experience in participating in on-call rotations is required.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with distributed teams are essential.
