Remote Backend Engineer - O11y, Asserts (Remote, EMEA)

Description:

• The backend engineer will be part of the Asserts.ai team within Grafana Labs, responsible for building and operating low-latency microservices in Java and databases like Graph DB.
• The services provide automated Root Cause Insights by querying Grafana Cloud Metrics, Traces, and Logs databases and integrating with Grafana platform components.
• The services are multi-tenant, highly available, and process and store data in Graph and Time Series DB.
• Responsibilities include delivering new features, creating design documents, building and operating critical systems, participating in on-call rotations, and gaining expertise in Grafana’s observability products.
• The role involves working remotely in a global, diverse team environment.

Requirements:

• Motivated self-starter with a bias towards action.
• Strong experience in Java programming and building/deploying Java-based microservices.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering to product shipping.
• Experience in building/deploying SaaS software on cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Curiosity and enjoyment in learning new programming languages and frameworks.
