Mux is a company focused on democratizing video for developers by addressing challenges in video encoding, streaming, and monitoring.
The Backend Software Engineer will build and manage scalable and highly available applications and services to support product feature development and growing traffic.
The Platform Experience team aims to provide a consistent and effective platform experience for customers.
Responsibilities include collaborating with the team on product goals, developing user-facing features in Elixir and Go, scaling the billing and usage platform, and working on identity and account management features as well as distributed notifications.

Requirements:

A minimum of 4 years of experience in production distributed systems and backend engineering is required.
Candidates should be strong engineers comfortable working across multiple platforms and environments.
Solid engineering fundamentals are necessary, with a Computer Science degree being a plus.
A track record of solving complex problems, including job scheduling, concurrency, and scaling, is essential.
Experience with Elixir is a significant advantage, but proficiency in Go, Python, Ruby, Node, or other general-purpose programming languages is also acceptable.
Experience deploying complex applications on cloud platforms using container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is required.
Video experience is a plus but not mandatory.
