Description:
At HackerRank, you will work as a backend engineer on large and complex projects, delivering them end-to-end, either independently or with team collaboration.
You will ensure timely delivery of all product deliverables.
You will play a key role in technical discussions and be the go-to person for guidance and troubleshooting within the team.
You will understand key business and engineering metrics related to performance, quality, and availability, and work with the team to improve them regularly.
You will proactively participate in code reviews and architecture and design discussions.

Requirements:
Candidates must be strong and self-motivated individuals capable of driving decisions independently.
A solid experience in building web-based products is required.
A minimum of 2+ years of expertise in at least one dynamic programming language and one MVC web framework, preferably Ruby on Rails, is necessary.
Expertise in database modeling, particularly relational databases, and the ability to spot database bottlenecks and write optimized queries is essential.
Candidates should have expertise in standard cloud technologies, preferably AWS, and knowledge of CI/CD tools and workflows.
A proven track record in building highly-available and scalable distributed systems is required.
Willingness to explore new technologies and act as a Subject Matter Expert is important.
Candidates should believe in minor incremental improvements and have a passion for refactoring.
A keen eye for quality, good coding practices, and improving code coverage is necessary.
Good stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders are required.
