Remote Backend Engineer (Virtual Reality)

Description:

• Our client, a leading innovator in the virtual reality (VR) industry, is seeking a talented Full-stack / Backend Engineer to join their team in London, England.
• As a Full-stack / Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the core systems that power the client's VR platforms.
• Responsibilities include developing robust backend systems using Python, FastAPI, and Celery, designing scalable APIs, deploying applications on AWS, and collaborating with the frontend team to build engaging interfaces.
• You will work on enhancing user interaction within VR environments, integrating third-party services, and utilizing advanced technologies like LLMs, embeddings, RAG, and vector databases for content discovery and personalization.
• Other tasks involve code reviews, troubleshooting, staying updated on VR trends, contributing innovative ideas, and documenting work for maintainability.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Python with experience in FastAPI and Celery.
• Knowledge of AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Familiarity with Docker (optional), Next.js / React, TypeScript, and RESTful API design.
• Understanding of LLMs, embeddings, RAG, and vector databases.
• Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, experience in the VR industry, Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and data security best practices.
