Description:

AnswersNow is a rapidly growing digital health company focused on providing accessible and personalized care for those affected by autism.
The company offers virtual therapy services that allow families to access care without waitlists or commutes.
The backend JavaScript engineer will create impactful improvements to the AnswersNow product, focusing on backend services and functionality.
Daily responsibilities include collaborating with the Engineering Manager and Principal Engineer, mentoring other engineers, and working within an agile team.
The tech stack includes Node.js, Express.js, React, PostgreSQL, ECS, S3, Lambda, and other AWS services.
The role involves participating in PR reviews, technical discussions, and requirement elaboration activities, as well as occasional production support on rotation.
The engineer will contribute high-quality work while adapting to frequent changes.

Requirements:

Candidates must have deep expertise in building full-stack software applications with JavaScript.
Strong experience in relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience working with cloud computing systems such as AWS or Google Cloud is necessary.
Previous experience with TypeScript is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences are essential.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in a full-stack or backend engineering role.
Experience in technical leadership of an engineering team is a bonus.
A strong foundation in programming, algorithms, and software application design is required.
A passion for solving challenging problems and iterating quickly is essential.
Previous start-up experience is a definite plus.
