We at Holycode are currently seeking an ambitious and experienced Backend Engineer to work full-time on the Swiss table reservation system Foratable.
Foratable, run and developed by the Swiss company Lunchgate AG, is a revolutionary reservation system that changes the way restaurants manage, market, and sell their capacity to enhance guest experiences.
As a Backend Engineer, you will join an international team of software engineers to create the next-generation platform, implement new features, and enhance the product.
This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact platform and product development.
Responsibilities include building new features with the product team using PHP and Java, maintaining and improving existing functionality in PHP 8, writing unit tests and functional tests for added functionality, supporting the design and implementation of architectural principles, and closely interacting with product managers and software, test automation, and DevOps engineers.

Requirements:

A Master's degree in engineering or 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
Good knowledge about data structures, algorithms, and data types is essential.
Understanding of service-oriented architectures (SOA) and event sourcing is necessary.
A passion for teamwork, code quality, and agile techniques (CI/CD, automated testing, trunk-based development) is important.
Knowledge of functional programming, event sourcing, and CQRS is a plus.
Experience with Java or a functional language like Haskell, Scala, or Rust is a plus.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
