Remote Backend Python Engineer (Gateway Related Projects team)

Description:

• The Gateway Related Projects team is focused on designing, developing, and implementing payment solutions that ensure stable and consistent payment processing.
• The goal is to create successful products and build a reputation as a reliable partner for clients.
• The position is remote and based in Poland, reporting to the Technical Lead.
• Responsibilities include working closely with the team Lead to identify key architecture drivers and Non-Functional Requirements for a core customer-facing product.
• The role involves selecting the best frameworks and tools for the designed architecture.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, and other developers, is essential to understand and implement business requirements.
• The engineer will add value by writing readable, testable, and efficient code, maintaining and developing the engineering culture, participating in code reviews, and mentoring junior developers.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience developing high-load scalable applications.
• Experience in the Fintech or Ecommerce industry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of Django, FastAPI, and designing and implementing REST APIs is required.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Git, Debian, Docker, MariaDB, MongoDB, and preferably Apache Druid is necessary.
• Understanding of distributed systems and integrations is essential.
• Experience in delivering good testing practices is required.
• Candidates should be able to implement solutions that minimize or eliminate performance problems, complexity, or solution fragility.
• The ability to write robust and fault-tolerant software that runs smoothly and reliably is crucial.
• Exceptional attention to detail is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are necessary.
• A customer-centric, empathetic mindset with excellent listening skills is important.
