Description:
As a Backend Shopify Developer, you will lead commerce projects and work on the development and maintenance of various Shopify and Shopify Plus e-commerce websites, primarily using a headless approach.
You will own the backend development side of projects and develop technical solutions for clients using Shopify.
Your responsibilities will include contributing to the development of solutions using Next.JS and Node.JS.
You will implement data integrations into Shopify, such as ERP and PIM systems.
You will guide other developers, uphold quality standards through code reviews, meetings, and regular testing.
Consulting clients, project managers, and product owners on technical questions and solution ideas will be part of your role.
You will perform regular testing to ensure functionality, log issues, detail bugs, and recommend improvements to project managers.
Monitoring and managing website uptime and performance will be essential.
You will collaborate with project managers to support new business sales and pitches.
Knowledge of security, personal data protection principles, and GDPR is required.
You will develop testing plans and troubleshoot eCommerce-related issues.
Designing and testing pages across different browsers, devices, and clients will be part of your responsibilities.
You will implement advanced debugging techniques and utilize browser developer tools.
Requirements:
You must have 5+ years of experience with Node.JS and Next, and ideally possess good knowledge of React.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Shopify Development, including Shopify Plus, is required.
You should have completed at least one project as a lead and have experience in all steps of the software development lifecycle.
Experience in guiding other developers and supporting them with technical challenges is necessary.
You should have experience building, launching, and maintaining stores, along with general knowledge of the Shopify admin system.
Understanding of hosting, deployments, and pipelines is essential.
A strong understanding of Shopify 2.0 and experience working with a made theme and/or Storefront API is required.
You should have experience implementing and debugging third-party Shopify apps, as well as creating custom solutions when necessary.
Familiarity with Shopify's objects, properties, API, and meta fields is necessary.
You must possess thorough testing and debugging skills using browser console and external tools.
Experience performing code reviews and upholding quality standards is required.
You should have experience developing responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Experience working with third-party services and APIs, as well as specific plugins for Shopify, is necessary.
You must be directly available to start working in Germany.
Professional working proficiency in both German and English is required.
