Description:
Warner Music Group is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join their engineering team focused on building the next-generation Data Platform.
The role involves reimagining the platform from the ground up, including how to store, represent, ingest, and serve factual data about artists, songwriters, and their works.
Responsibilities include ingesting, processing, ETL, and serving data about music consumption across digital platforms, as well as representing relationships between artists and their works for enhanced search and discovery.
The Data Platform will support core business processes like marketing optimization, performance tracking, rights acquisition, and distribution, as well as advanced capabilities like artist-fan connections and machine learning applications.
The position offers the opportunity to build a new codebase, work within a dynamic team, and own the creation and delivery of innovative products.

Requirements:
Candidates must have an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in backend development or data engineering is required, which can include full-time roles or internships.
Experience in building or developing large-scale data processing pipelines and high-availability dimensional datastores is essential.
A passion for music and a desire to provide impactful data to enhance the music industry is necessary.
Candidates should possess a high sense of ownership and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
A commitment to personal growth and mastery of software development is expected.
Strong coding skills and the ability to communicate empathetically with good design skills are required.

The salary range for this position is between $144,000 and $188,000 per year, depending on experience and business needs.
