The backend software engineer role involves building APIs, data processing flows, and integrations, with a focus on optimizing and utilizing databases like AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
The backend tech stack includes Ruby, Ruby on Rails apps, and Serverless components like AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Kinesis, and SQS.
Opportunities exist to work on the Ember.js frontend, infrastructure, DevOps, and serverless development.
The role requires working on data pipelines, serverless components, internal data services, and constantly learning and improving technologies.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Ruby as the main programming language, with openness to using other languages when necessary.
Interest in building scalable Serverless systems using AWS technologies like Lambda, Kinesis, and API Gateway.
Understanding of microservices architecture patterns, experience with Kubernetes and gRPC is a plus.
Strong software architecture and data modeling skills to align engineering decisions with the product vision.
Experience in DevOps and Infrastructure, especially in AWS, Terraform, Docker, or Kubernetes.
Ability to collaborate effectively, help colleagues, and communicate well.
Experience in managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting production-grade web applications.
Must be located within European timezones.
