Description:
- The Backend Software Engineer position at Megaport involves working in a product-focused agile team to enhance and maintain the existing API platform, integrate with external and partner systems, and design and deliver new features.
- Responsibilities include designing and building RESTful APIs using OpenAPI and Java/Kotlin/Scala, documenting systems using C4, participating in Megaport's agile development process, supporting quality assurance and release processes, and staying updated on relevant technologies and best practices.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in software development with Java or Kotlin (Scala is a bonus).
- Experience in building services and tools for web applications.
- Proficiency in working with relational databases using SQL.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
- Understanding of best practices and software engineering principles.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Logical reasoning, ability to question appropriately, and present technical information clearly.
- Bonus: Active GitHub account or examples of prior work.
- Bonus: Knowledge of Single page application frameworks like VueJS, AngularJS, or React.
- Bonus: Experience or knowledge about networking.
