Remote Backend Software Engineer (Golang)

Description:

• Zicasso, a luxury travel company, is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Golang) to join their team.
• The role involves developing and maintaining the core infrastructure of Zicasso's travel platform using cutting-edge technologies.
• This is a fully remote, freelance contractor position based outside the United States, with a preference for candidates in Latin America.
• The position requires working in English and overlapping with California time until 2pm Pacific Time Zone (GMT -8).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy highly available and scalable backend systems using Golang.
• Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Optimize performance and scalability of existing systems and infrastructure.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and integrate with external APIs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly, contribute to code reviews, and stay updated on backend development trends.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience in multiple languages.
• Proficiency in designing, developing, and deploying robust backend systems using Golang or Java.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, SQL, NoSQL databases, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of version control, automated testing, problem-solving, and debugging.
• Strong communication, collaboration skills, ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience in Agile development methodologies and a passion for the travel industry are advantageous.
