Description:
Zicasso, a luxury travel company, is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Golang) to join their team.
The role involves developing and maintaining the core infrastructure of Zicasso's travel platform using cutting-edge technologies.
This is a fully remote, freelance contractor position based outside the United States, with a preference for candidates in Latin America.
The position requires working in English and overlapping with California time until 2pm Pacific Time Zone (GMT -8).
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deploy highly available and scalable backend systems using Golang.
Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Optimize performance and scalability of existing systems and infrastructure.
Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and integrate with external APIs.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly, contribute to code reviews, and stay updated on backend development trends.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of software development experience in multiple languages.
Proficiency in designing, developing, and deploying robust backend systems using Golang or Java.
Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, SQL, NoSQL databases, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
Knowledge of version control, automated testing, problem-solving, and debugging.
Strong communication, collaboration skills, ability to work independently and in a team.
Experience in Agile development methodologies and a passion for the travel industry are advantageous.
