The Import and Document Management team is seeking a senior backend software engineer who is passionate about handling large volumes of data and building distributed systems for automated data ingestion and transformation.
The role involves using the latest technology stacks to develop the next generation of Addepar's data, computation, API, and research platform.
Responsibilities include architecting, implementing, and maintaining engineering solutions, leading project priorities, collaborating with product managers and engineers, mentoring team members, and documenting software functionality and system design.
Addepar offers a market-based approach to pay, with a salary range of $107,000 - $168,000, plus bonuses, equity, and benefits.

Requirements:

A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience as a professional software engineer and proficiency in any object-oriented programming language, with expertise in Java being a plus.
Experience in building and evolving large-scale, impactful distributed systems is essential.
Familiarity with databases, SQL, NoSQL, OLAP, and/or data lake architectures is required.
Strong knowledge of AWS and architectural experience is a plus.
A strong ownership mentality and a drive to solve significant problems are necessary.
Candidates should have a passion for implementing standard processes with a focus on smart automation.
Proven ability to collaborate with and mentor other engineers is required.
