Remote Backend Software Engineer (Junior/Mid level)

Description:

• As a Backend Software Engineer at Noema Consulting, you will collaborate with the development team to build and maintain scalable, efficient, and reliable backend systems.
• You will work with project managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Responsibilities include implementing data models and database schemas, optimizing database queries for performance and scalability.
• You will write clean, well-structured, well-documented, and testable code, participate in code reviews, and ensure code quality and best practices adherence.
• Monitoring, debugging, and troubleshooting issues in production environments to ensure system reliability and uptime.
• Stay updated on industry trends, suggest improvements for system architecture and performance, and write technical documentation and design documents.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience as a backend software engineer with Java.
• Good knowledge of Java, Spring framework/Spring Boot, OOP, and software design patterns.
• Familiarity with test automation, test-driven development, and version control systems like Git.
• Nice to have: Understanding of micro-services, event-driven architectures (Kafka), cloud native development, Azure certification, experience with Kotlin and/or Python.
• Skills & Competencies: Familiarity with new technologies, attention to detail, teamwork, communication skills, ability to work under deadlines, problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn and take on challenges.
