Description:
Employment Hero is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (.NET) to join their team, focused on simplifying employment for SMBs worldwide.
The role involves working with the Partnerships and Payroll Team to develop and modernize the Payroll system, transitioning to a service-oriented and microservices architecture.
Responsibilities include end-to-end development of cloud-based applications, collaborating with Product Owners on the technology roadmap, debugging application issues, and performing quality checks on code.
The engineer will take initiative in recommending process improvements, identify application pain points, conduct peer code reviews, and maintain documentation for new features.
The position also includes providing training for the support team and mentoring junior squad members.
The work environment is fully remote, flexible, and casual, encouraging the use of smart working tools like Github Copilot and generative AI technology.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience as a .NET Software Development Engineer, particularly in cloud-based SaaS environments.
Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core, and SQL Server is required.
Experience in developing software using microservices or SOA architecture for public cloud deployment, preferably AWS, is essential.
A good understanding of database concepts and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL is necessary.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaboration with Product teams is required.
Quality coding practices, including test-driven development and secure coding awareness, are important.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required for effective communication with global teams.
Additional experience with JavaScript frameworks, the Payroll or financial services domain, and mentoring or leading teams is a plus.
