Description:

  • Employment Hero is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (.NET) to join their team, focused on simplifying employment for SMBs worldwide.
  • The role involves working with the Partnerships and Payroll Team to develop and modernize the Payroll system, transitioning to a service-oriented and microservices architecture.
  • Responsibilities include end-to-end development of cloud-based applications, collaborating with Product Owners on the technology roadmap, debugging application issues, and performing quality checks on code.
  • The engineer will take initiative in recommending process improvements, identify application pain points, conduct peer code reviews, and maintain documentation for new features.
  • The position also includes providing training for the support team and mentoring junior squad members.
  • The work environment is fully remote, flexible, and casual, encouraging the use of smart working tools like Github Copilot and generative AI technology.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have experience as a .NET Software Development Engineer, particularly in cloud-based SaaS environments.
  • Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core, and SQL Server is required.
  • Experience in developing software using microservices or SOA architecture for public cloud deployment, preferably AWS, is essential.
  • A good understanding of database concepts and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaboration with Product teams is required.
  • Quality coding practices, including test-driven development and secure coding awareness, are important.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required for effective communication with global teams.
  • Additional experience with JavaScript frameworks, the Payroll or financial services domain, and mentoring or leading teams is a plus.
