Description:

The Billing System Engineer at Canonical will work within the Commercial Systems unit to develop an internal billing system ensuring a consistent billing experience for all customers.
The role involves collaborating with business departments to ensure accurate and reliable billing while maintaining high engineering standards.
Responsibilities include delivering engineering solutions in Go or Python, collaborating on technical designs and code reviews, deploying and operating services, and seeking improvements in engineering and operations practices.
The position offers the opportunity to work on a unique solution, gain expertise in billing and finance, and contribute to the success of Ubuntu and open source products.

Requirements:

Experience as a software developer in a high-level language, preferably Go or Python.
Proficiency in building, deploying, and operating distributed systems and APIs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to collaborate remotely with diverse team members and stakeholders, stay motivated, productive, and organized in a fully remote environment.
Willingness to travel internationally for short periods, approximately 2-4 times per year.
