Description:

cLabs is seeking a Blockchain Core Engineer to join the Blockchain team responsible for Celo's blockchain node.
The role involves working on a go-ethereum based node with unique transformations, including the consensus engine.
Key challenges include scaling the network, enhancing security and resiliency, and adding new features at the node level, such as enabling gas fee payments with an ERC20 token.
The Blockchain team collaborates with other engineering teams within cLabs, including the Primitives team and Developer Tools teams, to improve user experience and design incentives for validators and full nodes.
The position offers wide exposure to various areas of the stack, providing a comprehensive understanding of a modern blockchain project.
Responsibilities include collaborating with teammates to design the Celo protocol, contributing to the Celo blockchain client (L1 and L2), performing load testing and performance optimization, and writing documentation for the Celo protocol.

Requirements:

Candidates must have prior blockchain knowledge and development experience.
Proficiency in Golang is required, with familiarity in geth, optimism, erigon, or other golang-based Ethereum clients being ideal.
Experience in distributed systems design and development is necessary.
Strong debugging skills and the ability to understand unexpected behaviors in systems are essential.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
A responsible attitude towards work and strong work ethics are expected.
