At Coinbase, security is a foundational priority, essential for protecting millions of customers and billions of dollars in assets.
As a Blockchain Security Engineer on the Decentralized Financial Security Team, you will collaborate with engineers, technical product managers, and senior leadership to design secure products from the ground up.
Responsibilities include performing secure design reviews, threat modeling, vendor reviews, and secure code reviews for upcoming Coinbase products or features.
You will identify top product risk areas and lead risk-reduction initiatives with cross-functional teams.
The role involves improving and automating existing processes to increase efficiency.
Participation in the team on-call rotation is required to support engineering teams through timely design consultations, vulnerability analysis, and bug fix verification.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required.
Expertise in Application Security and fundamental knowledge of cryptography is necessary.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in threat modeling and design reviews is required.
Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to translate technical security requirements and risks into understandable terms for all stakeholders.
The ability to work independently and unblock yourself is crucial.
Nice to have: An MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, experience in at least one of Go, Ruby, or Python, experience in automating manual processes or carrying out process improvements, and experience in Blockchain, Exchange, or Decentralized Exchange Security.
Benefits:
The target annual salary for this position is $154,000 CAD.
