Description:
Alpaca is a fast-growing series B fintech company that has raised over $120 million in funding.
The company is an API-first stock and crypto platform that enables developers and businesses to build trading algorithms, applications, and brokerage services.
The team consists of over 150 globally distributed members who work remotely from various countries.
The Brokerage Operations Data Analyst will report directly to the President of the Broker Dealer.
This role focuses on leveraging data analytics to drive operational efficiency, reduce risk, and inform policy and procedure decisions.
Key responsibilities include analyzing operational processes, conducting risk assessments, identifying growth opportunities, managing data, and supporting ad hoc projects.
The analyst will collaborate with various departments and present findings to senior management.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field is required.
Advanced degrees or relevant certifications such as CFA, FRM, or Data Science certifications are preferred.
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the financial services or brokerage industry, is necessary.
A proven track record of conducting complex data analyses to drive operational improvements and strategic decisions is essential.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, and data visualization tools is required.
A strong understanding of financial markets, trading operations, and brokerage services is needed.
Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
The ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is important.
High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality are required.
