Remote Business Intelligence Engineer

• This is a full-time work from home opportunity for a star BI Data Engineer from LATAM.
• IDT Corporation is an American telecommunications company founded in 1990 and headquartered in New Jersey.
• The company is an industry leader in prepaid communication and payment services and one of the world’s largest international voice carriers.
• The individual in this role will perform data analysis, ELT/ETL design, and support functions to deliver on strategic initiatives to meet organizational goals.
• Responsibilities include providing production support to a legacy telecom system in Oracle DB and supporting an existing legacy AbInitio project while learning the business logic for migration to current technologies like Snowflake.
• The role involves developing, documenting, and testing ELT/ETL solutions using industry-standard tools such as Snowflake, Denodo Data Virtualization, and Looker.
• The engineer will recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability in ELT/ETL development.
• The position requires extracting data from multiple sources, integrating disparate data into a common data model, and integrating data into a target database, application, or file using efficient ELT/ETL processes.
• Collaboration with Quality Assurance resources to debug ELT/ETL development and ensure timely delivery of products is essential.
• The candidate should be willing to explore and learn new technologies and concepts to provide the right kind of solution, with a target and result-oriented mindset and strong end-user focus.
• Effective oral and written communication skills are required.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL, ELT/ETL design, development, and populating data warehouses from heterogeneous OLTP sources is required.
• A BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field or equivalent industry expertise is necessary.
• Very good or excellent English communication skills are mandatory.
• The candidate must understand Business Intelligence and Data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
• Experience with reporting/visualization tools is a plus.
• Exposure to standard support ticket management tools like JIRA is preferred.
• Good experience in data analysis, root cause analysis, and proven problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities are essential.
• An understanding of Software Engineering principles and skills working on Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems in an Agile environment is required.
• Experience with scripting languages like Python, Shell, JavaScript, and HTML5 is a plus.
