Description:
The Capacity Planning Software Engineer Intern position at Cloudflare involves building internal tools and systems for capacity engineering.
The primary focus is on developing an autonomous capacity planning system to oversee capacity deployments globally, covering compute, storage, GPU, and network resources.
Responsibilities include automating server deployment plans and prioritizing global work orders for infrastructure tasks.
The role collaborates closely with engineering teams to understand demand signals and works with infrastructure operations teams to deploy the right amount of capacity.
The intern will support over 25 million internet properties across ~300 cities by managing infrastructure capacity effectively.
Requirements:
Intermediate skills in JavaScript and the React framework are required.
Familiarity with server-side development in Node.js or Python is necessary.
Strong skills in network services, including Rest APIs and HTTP, are essential.
Some experience with SQL (CREATE, ALTER, DROP, SELECT, LEFT_JOIN, INNER_JOIN, etc.) is needed.
Familiarity with version control tools like Git (push, pull, commit) is a requirement.
Knowledge of CSS concepts like the Box model, CSS Grid, or Flexbox is necessary.
Currently pursuing a degree or program in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a relevant field is a must.
Ability to commit to a 12-16 week internship is required.
