Description:
Easy Dynamics is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead a large cloud and identity transformation program within the federal government.
The role involves defining technical specifications and system design, as well as developing technical and data architecture for securing and delivering information systems.
The Cloud Architect will provide leadership in reviewing, developing, and enhancing cloud-based technical architectures and their implementation.
Collaboration with end-users to define, analyze, and review business requirements is essential, along with drafting technical documentation such as designs, diagrams, roadmaps, and presentations.
The position requires leading a diverse technical team to produce and support high-quality technical deliverables, including Developers, DevOps engineers, SREs, DBAs, analysts, and information security personnel.
Responsibilities include supporting the migration of workloads from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure and designing optimized Azure architectures in both hybrid and cloud-only environments.
The Cloud Architect will partner with internal and external program stakeholders to translate business goals into technical cloud architecture and solutions.
Leading technical development and deployment activities, facilitating design reviews, and preparing project plans and milestones in collaboration with program management are key tasks.
The role also involves estimating levels of effort and resource utilization, anticipating and resolving issues and risks, and contributing to the development of practices, standards, and guidelines.
The Cloud Architect will independently develop roadmaps and establish an overarching product vision, presenting these to program leadership for buy-in and approval.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10 years of experience as a Cloud Architect.
A BS degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Experience leading programmatic efforts on cloud solution architecture, requirements management, and product ownership is essential, preferably within the federal government.
Expertise in designing and implementing modern cloud application architectures is necessary.
Strong knowledge and practical experience with the Microsoft Cloud stack, including Azure (Commercial and Government), Office 365, Entra ID, and Defender, is required.
Familiarity with DevSecOps methodology, CI/CD pipeline architecture, modern configuration management approaches, infrastructure as code, and compliance as code is needed.
Candidates should have experience with NIST SP 800 series, particularly NIST 800-53 and 800-63.
Hands-on experience with implementing cloud security baselines, documenting security controls, and achieving Authority to Operate (ATO) for cloud solutions is required.
Familiarity with modern compliance automation approaches is preferred.
Experience in communicating complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is necessary.
Candidates must have experience planning, executing, and supporting large-scale cloud migration efforts into Microsoft Azure.
Experience leading diverse technical teams in cloud migration and/or management is required.
Familiarity with common automation tools in Microsoft Azure, such as Terraform, ARM Templates, and PowerShell, is preferred.
Federal experience and US Citizenship are required.
The ability to obtain a U.S. Government clearance (Public Trust) is necessary.
