Description:
Enterprise Horizon Consulting Group is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join their growing team.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies and a passion for designing and maintaining scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure.
This is a remote position.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
The Cloud Engineer will work with various internal and external teams to provide input on Cloud Architecture and other technical components throughout the project lifecycle.
The role involves developing project software and hardware lists, reviewing cloud hosting options, and maintaining currency with AWS instance types and services.
The engineer will assist in the design and review of architectural diagrams and critical project documents.
They will develop cloud migration strategies, report on Cloud Infrastructure related IMS and project plan sections, and identify risks associated with Cloud Infrastructure.
The position requires assisting with the creation of Cloud Infrastructure artifacts and ensuring compliance with project change management processes.
The engineer will also assist Cyber with processes leading to IATT, ATO, and cATO, and ensure design compliance with Cyber Security requirements.
Additional responsibilities include running Cloud working group sessions, providing Agile methodology guidance, and assisting project teams with onboarding documentation.
Requirements:
An active clearance is highly desired, and candidates must be able to pass a federal background check.
A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role in cloud infrastructure management within a federal or DoD environment is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is necessary.
Candidates must have knowledge of AWS cloud hosting environments and hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell is required.
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is essential.
A strong understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.) is necessary.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting are required.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities are essential for this role.
