Description:
The Cloud Architect role is 100% remote and open to EU or UK-based applicants only.
The position involves supporting strategic directions for cloud infrastructure and driving operational delivery for over 600 global customers in various segments including Luxury Apparel, Outdoor Sports, Footwear, Cosmetics, and Food and Beverage.
The successful candidate will lead multiple teams of cloud engineers to enhance service quality and customer experience.
This position reports to the Director of Cloud Services.
Responsibilities include understanding customers' cloud estates, collaborating with architects to develop enterprise-grade solutions, and drafting technical solutions for migration and deployments.
The role requires keeping up to date with market trends, advocating for new features, and driving architectural decisions from an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) perspective.
The Cloud Architect will also develop relationships with key customer IT decision-makers, define long-term cloud strategies, and consult on optimal environment designs.
The position emphasizes continuous improvement, budget management, and providing leadership and mentoring to team members.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, MCA, or a related field is mandatory.
A minimum of 12 years of experience in architecture, DevOps, and cloud operations roles within a software or services company is required.
Subject matter expertise in GCP or AWS, including areas such as Network & Security, Compute & Storage, and migration tools, is essential.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration across organizations.
Experience with infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management using tools like Ansible or Chef/Puppet is required.
Hands-on experience with primary cloud services (GCP and AWS) and knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker administration is needed.
A proven track record of building technical relationships with senior IT executives and adapting to new technologies is essential.
Candidates must possess AWS Certified Solution Architect – Professional, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
