Description:
The Cloud Engineer position is a remote, full-time role aimed at senior executives in the USA.
The role involves collaborating closely with a small team of world-class employees to drive personal and organizational growth.
The candidate will be a cloud automation subject-matter expert, engaging with all levels of large IT organizations, from strategizing with the CTO to performing code reviews.
The position requires a proactive individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and is motivated to solve problems.
Responsibilities include building cloud scale automation using Turbot Guardrails, Turbot Pipes, and open-source projects like Steampipe, along with Python and Terraform.
The engineer will act as a product expert, articulating complex cloud security and management best practices to both technical and non-technical users.
The role also involves increasing customer success by directing global enterprise customers in best practices for managing AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
The engineer will improve code examples and documentation, contribute to training end-users, and optimize customer configurations based on best practices.
Engaging with customers to understand their needs and using those insights to enhance Turbot products is also a key responsibility.
Collaboration with the product team to translate customer needs into technical solutions is expected.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in a cloud platform engineering role, preferably within a large, regulated IT organization.
A minimum of 4+ years of direct experience in managing or building CSPM, Cloud Governance, Cloud Management, Cloud Security, Cloud Operations, or related cybersecurity tooling is required.
Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP is essential.
Candidates should have expertise in cloud-native networking, identity, and security services.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, particularly in deploying large-scale cloud platform architectures across multiple cloud service accounts, is necessary.
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Shell is required.
A solid understanding of compliance and security control frameworks, including CIS, NIST, HIPAA, and PCI, is important.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for working with customers and collaborating with colleagues are essential.
