Remote Cloud Engineer - GCP

Description:

• LivePerson is seeking a Cloud Engineer (all genders) to join their Workspaces group, which consists of approximately 12 engineers across Israel, Germany, and Bulgaria.
• The role involves working in a fast-paced environment on projects that enhance and simplify customer engagement through messaging.
• Key responsibilities include designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• The engineer will participate in on-prem cloud migration to GCP and leverage various GCP services such as Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Cloud Pub/Sub for scalable solutions.
• Responsibilities also include designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, collaborating with developers for seamless feature integration, and managing Istio service mesh for microservice communications.
• The engineer will set up monitoring and logging tools to track cloud infrastructure and microservices' health and performance, and work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.
• Continuous improvement of development and deployment practices is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or a related role, with a focus on cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD processes.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is required, including services like Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Compute Engine, and Cloud Functions.
• Hands-on experience in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and its features is essential.
• Experience with Istio for service mesh implementation and managing microservice communication, security, and observability is necessary.
• A solid understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, along with hands-on experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes clusters, is required.
• Candidates should have experience with monitoring and logging tools like Elastic and Grafana.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills are required to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and innovation is necessary.
• Willingness to participate in paid on-call duty approximately every 4-6 weeks is required.
