Description:
Jobgether is seeking a Cloud Engineer GCP for a remote position in the United Kingdom.
The role requires an experienced Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a solid understanding of multi-cloud architecture.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and optionally Azure and OCI.
The engineer will collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to define and execute cloud strategies, support migrations, and optimize performance and cost.
This position is critical for enabling fast, secure, and reliable operations for a global payment processing platform.
The role offers the opportunity to lead cloud initiatives that support enterprise growth and innovation.
Key accountabilities include designing and developing GCP and multi-cloud architectures using tools like Terraform, implementing secure and cost-effective cloud infrastructure, managing container platforms and Kafka clusters, leading cloud migrations, optimizing networking and compute environments, monitoring cloud systems, and contributing to documentation and team knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering with expertise in GCP and AWS.
Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Kafka is essential.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell, as well as DevOps tools like GitLab, Jenkins, and ArgoCD, is required.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration using Helm and operators is necessary.
Familiarity with cloud security frameworks including ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and GDPR is important.
Knowledge of cloud cost management and performance optimization techniques is required.
Optional experience with Azure, OCI, and relevant cloud certifications (e.g., GCP Architect, AWS Architect) is a plus.
