Description:

  • FoodChain ID is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Cloud Services team as a Cloud Engineer I.
  • This entry-level role is responsible for supporting and maintaining our cloud hosting environment.
  • Key tasks include operating system patching, environment monitoring, and issue troubleshooting.
  • The position offers strong opportunities for growth and advancement through hands-on experience, mentorship from senior team members, and participation in strategic cloud initiatives.
  • This role reports to the Cloud Services Manager.
  • Primary job duties include tracking work and documenting task details in an issue and project management system, supporting and maintaining cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and collaborating with stakeholders for routine administration and maintenance of cloud environments.
  • Responsibilities also include monitoring the health and performance of cloud systems, conducting regular patching, updates, and disaster recovery testing, and applying cloud security best practices.
  • The role involves assisting in deploying applications and services in cloud environments using CI/CD pipelines, creating and maintaining technical documentation, and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation for production support and incident response.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing AWS or Azure cloud platforms is required.
  • Experience managing Windows and/or Linux servers, including user and group management (e.g., Active Directory), is necessary.
  • A solid understanding of core networking concepts, such as subnets, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and load balancers, is essential.
  • Basic proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell is required.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or Ansible, is necessary.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git: cloning, branching, committing) is required.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps is necessary.
  • Understanding of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Nagios, or CheckMK is required.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities are essential.
  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively is required.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional off-hours support as needed, is necessary.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
