Description:
The Cloud Engineer IV is responsible for infrastructure tasks including provisioning hypervisors, addressing connectivity issues, performing upgrades, and managing day-to-day issues and audits.
This role involves designing, building, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex OpenStack environments.
The engineer will troubleshoot problems and take corrective action on a timely and effective basis.
Technical support will be provided to both internal and external users, making this a customer-facing position.
The engineer will work on appropriate level tickets in the queue and monitor all related infrastructure for maintenance.
Collaboration with vendors is required to resolve hardware and software issues.
The role includes gathering data for capacity planning and performance analysis of the infrastructure.
The engineer will develop projects aimed at improving performance, efficiency, experience, and capacity of environments.
Acting as the primary interface for the client or project manager for basic to intermediate projects is expected.
The engineer will implement large, complex enterprise-class solutions using OpenStack technologies.
Regular checks of system components for errors and the application of necessary corrective actions will be performed.
An intermediate working knowledge of Linux platforms and technologies, including MySQL, Apache, ha-proxy, and DNS, is required.
Knowledge of operating systems, both Windows and Linux, is necessary.
General network administration skills and a working knowledge of network storage protocols such as NFS and ISCSI are essential.
An understanding of Content Distribution Network architecture and practices is also required.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree is preferred for this position.
Preferred certifications include COA Certified OpenStack Administrator, RHCSA: Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator, and Windows Server Administration.
Candidates should possess intermediate working knowledge of Linux platforms and related technologies.
Knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems is required.
General network administration skills are necessary for this role.
A working knowledge of network storage protocols such as NFS and ISCSI is essential.
Understanding of Content Distribution Network architecture and practices is required.
