Description:
The Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing cloud financials, ensuring cost efficiency, and providing financial insights across multi-cloud environments including Azure, AWS, GCP, and Oracle Cloud.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud service provider (CSP) billing models, FinOps tools, and best practices to help the organization effectively manage cloud costs while aligning with business objectives.
This position is fully remote and requires an active Top Secret clearance.
Responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing cloud costs across Azure, AWS, GCP, and Oracle environments.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cloud cost management strategies and governance models to optimize cloud spending.
They will develop processes to manage cloud billing, negotiate cloud contracts, and ensure efficient utilization of cloud resources.
The role involves creating and maintaining detailed financial reports on cloud usage, trends, and cost optimizations, and communicating insights to key stakeholders.
The engineer will implement and manage CSP FinOps tools such as CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or similar tools to gain detailed visibility into cloud spend.
They will provide forecasts, set budgets, and assist teams in adhering to financial goals for cloud usage.
The engineer will design and manage a cost allocation model for various departments and teams based on cloud resource usage.
They will work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to identify opportunities for cost-saving measures such as rightsizing, automation, and service adjustments.
The engineer will develop and enforce policies, practices, and guardrails around cloud usage to prevent overspending and ensure compliance with financial goals.
Requirements:
Candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance.
A deep understanding of cloud service provider (CSP) billing models is required.
Experience with FinOps tools and best practices is essential.
Candidates should have a proven track record in cloud cost management across multi-cloud environments.
Strong analytical skills are necessary to monitor and optimize cloud costs effectively.
Excellent communication skills are required to convey financial insights to key stakeholders.
Experience with CSP FinOps tools such as CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, and Azure Cost Management is preferred.
Candidates should have experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting related to cloud usage.
Knowledge of governance and best practices in cloud financial management is important.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams is essential.
Benefits:
