Description:

  • The Cloud Governance Engineer position is a remote, full-time role based in the USA.
  • The role involves collaborating closely with a small team of world-class employees to drive personal and organizational growth.
  • The engineer will be responsible for building cloud scale automation using Turbot Guardrails, Turbot Pipes, and open-source projects like Steampipe, along with Python and Terraform.
  • The position requires a deep understanding of Turbot’s products to articulate complex cloud security and management best practices to both technical and non-technical users.
  • The engineer will direct global enterprise customers in best practices for managing multiple AWS, Azure, and GCP production cloud environments.
  • Responsibilities include improving code examples and documentation, training end-users, and optimizing customer configurations based on best practices.
  • The role also involves engaging with customers to understand their needs and using those insights to enhance Turbot products.
  • Collaboration with the product team is essential to translate customer needs into technical solutions.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in a cloud platform engineering role, preferably within a large, regulated IT organization.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of direct experience in managing or building CSPM, Cloud Governance, Cloud Management, Cloud Security, Cloud Operations, or related cybersecurity tooling is required.
  • Applicants should possess deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
  • Experience with cloud-native networking, identity, and security services is essential.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, with experience deploying large-scale cloud platform architectures across multiple cloud service accounts, is necessary.
  • Candidates should be skilled in scripting languages like Python and Shell.
  • A solid understanding of compliance and security control frameworks, including CIS, NIST, HIPAA, and PCI, is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for working with customers and collaborating with colleagues are essential.
