Description:

Conception is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their team, with the option to work remotely.
The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in the field and expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Responsibilities include maintaining and extending existing GCP-based compute infrastructure, leveraging Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices, applying software and security updates, and maintaining cloud-based data storage infrastructure.
The engineer will also maintain and improve the PostgreSQL database of biological sample metadata and build automated workflows for timely data processing.
The role involves scoping and leading a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects to support bioinformatic and bench scientists at Conception.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer or in a similar role.
A GCP Cloud Associate certification or higher is required.
Proficiency in Linux system administration is necessary.
Candidates should be skilled in Terraform, bash, and python.
Familiarity with CI/CD practices for code deployment is essential.
Experience with task automation tools and standard container tooling such as Docker, Singularity, and Nextflow is required.
The ability to independently scope and lead projects is necessary.
Candidates should demonstrate proactivity in seeking input, gathering requirements, identifying potential problems, and assisting others.
