Description:
ClickHouse is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Software Engineer to join their Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team.
The team is responsible for building and managing the foundational blocks of ClickHouse Cloud data plane, including compute, networking, security, and a multi-cloud architecture.
The role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
Responsibilities include building a cloud-native platform, automating cloud resource management, and collaborating with the ClickHouse core database and security teams.
The engineer will work on routing and traffic components to enhance the reliability and scalability of the cloud service.
The position requires systematic improvement of availability by applying industry best practices and designing security components and tooling.
The engineer will also focus on improving performance and cost efficiency of the infrastructure.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant software development experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
Proficiency in software development using Go, C/C++, Java, or another OOP language is required.
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is necessary.
Candidates should have experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
Experience in developing cloud-native edge or service mesh services, ideally with envoy and Istio, is preferred.
The ability to lead and ship large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple engineers is essential.
Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers, is required.
Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards like SOC2 and GDPR, is necessary.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a global team are essential.
Strong problem-solving skills and solid production debugging skills are required.
Candidates should be passionate about efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a high level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability are important.
