Description:

SearchStax is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join their Cloud team, providing technical support and ensuring the availability and reliability of their search service.
The role involves managing and supporting the search-as-a-service platform, which serves thousands of customers globally.
Responsibilities include installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing open source and custom-built software.
The engineer will analyze and improve application reliability, disaster recovery, cloud management, distributed systems, and cluster management.
The position requires participation in on-call shifts.
The engineer will collaborate with other engineers to ensure high availability and smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities also include resolving customer support tickets, managing service incidents, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
The role involves setting up backups, deploying software, upgrading systems, and performing routine maintenance tasks, either manually or through automation.
The engineer will configure and generate reports and alerts on core infrastructure using tools like Datadog or Zabbix.
Periodic security audits of the system and service requests from customers or internal teams will also be part of the job.

Requirements:

Candidates must have strong communication skills and a strong command of English.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu/CentOS) is required.
At least one cloud provider experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is necessary.
Knowledge of network issues, including firewall, routing, and load balancing, is essential.
Familiarity with scripting using Bash or Python is required.
Practical knowledge of MySQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) database systems as an administrator is necessary.
Experience in web server administration (e.g., Apache, Nginx) is required.
Exposure to ITIL processes is preferred.
A willingness to learn new technologies is essential.
Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Python would be a plus.

The salary range for this position is $30,000 to $65,000 USD annually, with the final salary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
