Description:

SearchStax is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join their Cloud team, providing technical support to customers and ensuring the availability and reliability of their search service.
The role involves managing and supporting the search-as-a-service platform, which includes installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing open source and custom-built software.
Responsibilities include collaborating with Engineers and other Cloud Operations engineers, resolving customer support tickets, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
The engineer will work within a global support team covering 24x7x365 cloud operations and will be responsible for setting up backups, deploying software, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
The position requires participation in an on-call rotation schedule and performing periodic security audits of the system.

Requirements:

Candidates must have strong communication skills and a strong command of English.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu/CentOS) is required.
At least 1 year of experience with a cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is necessary.
Knowledge of network issues such as firewall, routing, and load balancing is essential.
Familiarity with writing scripts using Bash or Python is required.
Practical knowledge of MySQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) database systems as an administrator is necessary.
Experience in web server administration (e.g., Apache, Nginx) is required.
Exposure to ITIL processes and a willingness to learn new technologies are important.
Candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Python is a plus.

The base salary range for this role is $30,000 - $40,000 USD, with salary structures designed to evolve with job performance.
