Description:

SearchStax is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join their Cloud team, providing technical support and ensuring the availability and reliability of their search service.
The role involves managing and supporting the search-as-a-service platform, which includes installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing open source and custom-built software.
Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers, resolving customer support tickets, ensuring positive customer experiences, and managing cloud operations in a global support team covering 24x7x365.
The engineer will set up backups, deploy software, upgrade systems, and perform routine maintenance tasks, either manually or through automation.
The role requires configuring and generating reports and alerts on Core Infrastructure, performing periodic security audits, and handling service requests with high quality.
Participation in an on-call rotation schedule is required.

Requirements:

Candidates must have strong communication skills and a strong command of English.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu/CentOS) is required.
At least 1 year of experience with a cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is necessary.
Knowledge of network issues, including firewall, routing, and load balancing, is essential.
Familiarity with scripting in Bash or Python is required.
Practical knowledge of MySQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) database systems as an administrator is necessary.
Experience in web server administration (e.g., Apache, Nginx) is required.
Exposure to ITIL processes is preferred.
A willingness to learn new technologies and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Python is a plus.

The base salary range for this role is $30,000 - $40,000 USD, with salary structures designed to evolve with job performance.
