Description:
PadSplit is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to manage and optimize their cloud infrastructure.
The role involves improving AWS environments, PostgreSQL databases, and DevOps workflows to enhance the platform's accessibility for affordable housing.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure AWS infrastructure.
The engineer will manage AWS RDS (PostgreSQL) performance, indexing, and schema changes for efficiency.
The position requires building and maintaining backend services using Python and Django to ensure platform stability.
The engineer will implement and improve CI/CD deployment pipelines using BitBucket.
Enhancing system monitoring and logging with tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, or Grafana is also part of the role.
The engineer will strengthen security measures, including IAM policies, data encryption, and VPC security best practices.
Performance tuning of applications and queries to improve speed and reliability is essential.
The role involves cross-functional collaboration with engineering, data, and product teams to scale and refine the platform.
Requirements:
Candidates must have strong experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and IAM.
Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL performance tuning, indexing, and schema design is required.
Experience in backend development using Python and Django is necessary for building scalable and secure applications.
Familiarity with CI/CD automation and managing infrastructure using tools like GitHub Actions or CircleCI is essential.
Candidates should have experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, and knowledge of IAM policies and encryption best practices.
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker or Kubernetes is required.
The ability to optimize queries, caching strategies, and overall system performance is necessary.
Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving complex technical challenges are essential.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with product, engineering, and data teams.
Autonomy in making technical decisions, mentoring others, and driving improvements independently is expected.
