Description:

  • PadSplit is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to manage and optimize their cloud infrastructure.
  • The role involves improving AWS environments, PostgreSQL databases, and DevOps workflows to enhance the platform's accessibility for affordable housing.
  • Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure AWS infrastructure.
  • The engineer will manage AWS RDS (PostgreSQL) performance, indexing, and schema changes for efficiency.
  • The position requires building and maintaining backend services using Python and Django to ensure platform stability.
  • The engineer will implement and improve CI/CD deployment pipelines using BitBucket.
  • Enhancing system monitoring and logging with tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, or Grafana is also part of the role.
  • The engineer will strengthen security measures, including IAM policies, data encryption, and VPC security best practices.
  • Performance tuning of applications and queries to improve speed and reliability is essential.
  • The role involves cross-functional collaboration with engineering, data, and product teams to scale and refine the platform.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have strong experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and IAM.
  • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL performance tuning, indexing, and schema design is required.
  • Experience in backend development using Python and Django is necessary for building scalable and secure applications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD automation and managing infrastructure using tools like GitHub Actions or CircleCI is essential.
  • Candidates should have experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, and knowledge of IAM policies and encryption best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker or Kubernetes is required.
  • The ability to optimize queries, caching strategies, and overall system performance is necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving complex technical challenges are essential.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with product, engineering, and data teams.
  • Autonomy in making technical decisions, mentoring others, and driving improvements independently is expected.
