Description:
As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Kafka messaging clusters to support application pub/sub requirements.
You will collaborate closely with application teams to translate their needs into scalable and maintainable services.
The role involves optimizing performance around messaging platforms within applications.
You will contribute to the build and operation of Kubernetes (K8s) clusters and cloud environments.
Leveraging application observability platforms to enhance system reliability and performance will be part of your responsibilities.
A data-driven approach to troubleshooting and decision-making for platform operations is essential.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
You must have 4+ years of relevant work experience in cloud platform engineering or related fields.
Expertise in building and managing Kafka clusters, with proven experience in pub/sub messaging systems, is required.
Strong programming skills in Python or C++ are necessary, with alternatives being Java or Node.js.
A solid understanding of cloud platforms, ideally AWS, is essential; experience with GCP or Azure is also acceptable.
You should have experience integrating with application teams to ensure infrastructure meets user needs.
Knowledge of performance optimization strategies in Kafka or messaging platforms is required.
Experience working in Kubernetes (K8s) and containerized environments is necessary.
Familiarity with observability tools and metrics for monitoring is expected.
A demonstrated MVP-based and incremental approach to development is important.
Strong English skills (B2+) are required.
