Description:
The Cloud Practice Engineer V implements the organization's cloud strategy from a technical perspective, including design, planning, integration, maintenance, and support of cloud architecture.
This role supports the development and execution of cloud implementation strategies within the organization's existing IT infrastructure.
The engineer may work with stakeholders across the organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions.
Responsibilities include adhering to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed.
Key responsibilities involve creating well-designed, documented, and tested software features that meet customer requirements.
The engineer will identify and address product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks.
They will work with customer engineering teams on a wide variety of projects.
Writing infrastructure as code using tools like CloudFormation and Terraform is required.
The role involves implementing automation and DevOps best practices for CI/CD, IaC, and containerization.
Linux and Windows administration, automated deployments, and scripting in Bash, PowerShell, or Python are essential.
Collaboration with fellow Rackers and customer key stakeholders is necessary to deliver projects, such as implementing cloud-based technical architectures, executing migrations, and optimizing applications.
The engineer will serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.
Requirements:
Candidates must be fluent in both Spanish and English.
A minimum of 12 to 14 years of experience in the relevant field is required.
A generic DevOps skill baseline in coding is necessary.
Proficiency in scripting/programming languages, configuration management, and containerization is required.
Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices is essential.
Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, including commit, branch, merge, and review processes is required.
Candidates should understand pre/post hooks and be able to design and implement branching strategies.
Experience in designing and implementing group development collaboration processes, including access control and code review/approval, is necessary.
Familiarity with artifact repositories and popular artifact management tools is required.
Candidates should have experience with CI/CD tools and implementing CI services.
Knowledge of operating systems, particularly Linux or Windows, is essential.
A solid cloud skill baseline, including automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), is required.
Candidates should be able to use orchestration tools to organize IaC code and inject configurations.
Experience with identity access management (IAM), security, networking, compute (VM, container platform, function), and serverless solutions is necessary.
Knowledge of data storage, databases, configuration management, secret management, monitoring, logging, and message queues is required.
AWS certifications are preferred.
