Description:
City Electric Supply is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join their security team, focusing on cloud-related technologies.
The position is remote and open to applicants residing in various US states.
The role involves designing and deploying technologies and best security practices for cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
The engineer will act as a liaison between the security team and the cloud team to promote security best practices.
Responsibilities include creating cloud security guidelines, securely designing and maintaining systems across on-prem and cloud environments, and managing Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM).
The engineer will create data reports and recommendations for mitigating security risks and engage stakeholders as necessary.
The role requires building technical solutions for data ingestion and transformation using open-source, AWS, and Azure technologies.
Automation and scripting will be leveraged to expedite secure cloud adoption.
The engineer will partner with various teams to investigate application and network architecture and work with DevOps to implement secure CI/CD pipeline deployments.
Knowledge of container security (Docker, Kubernetes) is essential, along with completing vendor security reviews and engaging stakeholders on new projects from a security perspective.
The engineer will conduct security assessments of internal and external tools and stay updated on security-related events to take appropriate measures.
Responsibilities also include optimizing security tools and creating dashboards for security-related information.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in cloud security, preferably with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
Experience with cloud security tools such as CSPM, IAM, and container security technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is necessary.
Proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, is required.
A solid understanding of security best practices and frameworks for cloud environments, such as NIST, CIS, and SOC 2, is essential.
Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines with a focus on security automation is required.
Familiarity with security governance, risk, and compliance practices, including conducting vendor security reviews, is necessary.
Candidates should have experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with development, engineering, and business units to drive security initiatives.
