Description:
The Cloud Security Engineer will ensure the information security of the company's SaaS product offerings.
This role involves being the primary subject matter expert on cloud security matters.
Responsibilities include participating in the design and implementation of cloud security best practices.
The engineer will set up and monitor security tools and technologies that protect SaaS products.
Collaboration with Cloud Operations, Engineering, Services, and other stakeholders is essential to deliver adequate information security.
The role includes evaluating existing technical solutions and identifying risk areas for both Vendavo and its customers.
The engineer will execute routine security assessments, including ad hoc scans and penetration tests, and conduct system reviews.
Responsibilities also include providing technical expertise regarding security risks and risk mitigation practices.
The engineer will participate in the deployment and setup of security solutions, such as WAFs, IDS, and encryption systems.
Participation in the design and execution of the security incident response program is required.
The engineer will assist in internal security audits and assessments and help the compliance department gather evidence for external audits.
This is a customer-facing role that may require engagement with customer security teams on technical security matters.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred.
A minimum of three years of experience in cybersecurity, focusing on cloud security or penetration testing, is required.
Technical knowledge of Linux and Windows OS is necessary, along with an advanced understanding of networking and systems security concepts.
Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure security tools and capabilities is preferred.
Certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker, AWS Certified Security Specialist, or Microsoft Azure Security Associate are welcome.
The candidate must be able to lead discussions across departments and levels and be open to new ways of doing things.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills are essential.
