Description:
The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for securing cloud infrastructures and ensuring data and applications are protected against emerging cyber threats.
This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud environments that support business objectives and compliance.
The engineer will work closely with IT teams, developers, and security professionals to establish cloud security protocols, manage risk assessments, and respond to potential threats.
Key responsibilities include architecting and deploying security measures, conducting regular security assessments, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and developing security monitoring tools.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle and lead responses to security incidents.
Staying updated on cloud security trends and integrating new tools and techniques to strengthen cloud security is also essential.
Requirements:
Strong experience in securing cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, along with knowledge of cloud-native security tools like AWS Security Hub and Azure Security Center.
Proficiency in threat modeling, security incident response, and forensics, with the ability to manage intrusion detection and prevention systems.
Familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and ISO, and the capability to implement policies ensuring compliance in cloud infrastructures.
Experience in integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and convey complex security concepts.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required, with equivalent experience considered.
Certifications in cloud security, such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or AWS Certified Security – Specialty, are highly desirable.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years specializing in cloud security for large-scale infrastructures.
Hands-on experience with implementing security tools, automating security measures, and managing compliance in cloud environments is necessary.
