Description:
The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for securing cloud infrastructures and ensuring data and applications are protected against emerging cyber threats.
This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud environments that support business objectives and compliance.
The engineer will work closely with IT teams, developers, and security professionals to establish cloud security protocols, manage risk assessments, and respond to potential threats.
Key responsibilities include architecting and deploying security measures, conducting regular security assessments, maintaining compliance with industry standards, developing security monitoring tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams, responding to security incidents, and staying updated on cloud security trends.
Requirements:
Candidates must have strong experience in securing cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, along with knowledge of cloud-native security tools.
Proficiency in threat modeling, security incident response, and forensics is required, including the ability to manage intrusion detection and prevention systems.
Familiarity with compliance standards like GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and ISO is essential, along with the capability to implement policies ensuring compliance in cloud infrastructures.
Experience in integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation is necessary.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are required to work effectively with cross-functional teams and convey complex security concepts.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required, with equivalent experience in cloud security considered.
Certifications in cloud security, such as CCSP or AWS Certified Security – Specialty, are highly desirable.
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3+ years specializing in cloud security for large-scale infrastructures.
