Description:
Canonical, a leading provider of open source software, is seeking a Cloud Support Associate Engineer to provide technical support for customers using Ubuntu and open source products.
The role involves troubleshooting complex cloud environment issues, Linux kernel crashes, OS configuration problems, and root cause analysis.
Responsibilities include owning and managing support cases, contributing to knowledge base articles, drafting technical notices, and prioritizing tasks to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA).
The position requires regular communication with the team, setting customer expectations, and participating in a weekend working rotation.
The role is remote and based in AMER, EMEA, or APAC time zones.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering, etc.) from an accredited college or university.
Experience with Linux troubleshooting, server administration, and cloud computing concepts.
Knowledge of virtualization/cloud, containers, storage technologies, and networking.
Proficiency in programming fundamentals in languages like bash, Perl, Ruby, Javascript, C, or C++.
Ability to learn quickly, handle customer-facing roles, and travel as needed.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills and background check required.
