Description:
Canonical is seeking a Cloud Support Associate Engineer to provide technical support for customers using Ubuntu and open source products.
The role involves troubleshooting complex cloud environment issues, Linux kernel crashes, OS configuration problems, and root cause analysis.
Responsibilities include owning and managing support cases, contributing to knowledge base articles, drafting technical notices, and prioritizing tasks.
The position requires understanding the Ubuntu development process, maintaining communication with the team, suggesting service improvements, and participating in weekend rotations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field like Computer Science, MIS, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience in Linux troubleshooting, server administration, and cloud computing concepts.
Knowledge of virtualization, containers, storage technologies, and networking.
Proficiency in programming languages like bash, Perl, Ruby, or C/C++.
Ability to learn quickly, handle customer-facing roles, and travel when necessary.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills and passing a background check.
