Description:

The Cloud Support Associate Engineer role at Canonical involves providing technical support for customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products.
Responsibilities include triaging complex cloud environment issues, Linux kernel crashes, OS configuration issues, and root cause analysis.
The position requires delivering expert-level support on the full cloud technical stack, managing cases from problem qualification to resolution, and transferring cases when necessary.
The role is remote and based in AMER or EMEA time zones, with tasks such as providing support via telephone, email, and web, drafting technical notices, and contributing to knowledge base articles.
The position also involves prioritizing tasks, learning continuously, maintaining communication with the team, suggesting service improvements, and participating in weekend rotations.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university, preferably in Computer Science, MIS, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience in Linux troubleshooting, server administration, and strong knowledge of cloud computing concepts.
Familiarity with virtualization/cloud, containers, storage technologies, and networking.
Proficiency in programming fundamentals in languages like bash, Perl, Ruby, Javascript, C, or C++.
Ability to learn quickly, handle customer-facing roles, and possess strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Willingness to travel.
