Description:
GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC is seeking a remote Cloud Systems Administrator to support its growing Cloud Services practice.
The successful candidate will assist in supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Cloud and National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) initiatives.
This role aims to enhance IT efficiency, improve IT delivery, and reduce costs for NOAA.
The position supports the NOAA Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR) initiative.
The candidate will direct cloud administrative duties within a cloud environment, including compute, storage, notification and queue management, and infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Responsibilities include assembling and documenting agile-related artifacts, providing guidance on infrastructure movement techniques, and developing cloud business best practices.
The candidate will work with multiple teams to understand business needs and translate them into IT/business capabilities.
Participation in the UAT and development process may be required.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
The candidate must have 6-8 years of experience administering cloud compute, storage, and infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Proficiency in coding languages such as Perl, Java, PowerShell, PHP, Ruby, and Python is required.
Hands-on experience with cloud services and containerization technologies, including building Docker Container Images and using scripting languages, is necessary.
Experience with Amazon Web Services, code-defined infrastructure, configuration management tools, and CI/CD is essential.
Familiarity with AWS Lambda and “Serverless” systems is required.
The candidate should have experience in large-scale enterprise IT environments.
Strong verbal and communication skills are necessary for working with senior leadership and across organizational teams.
The candidate must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in layman's terms.
Excellent communication and writing skills are required.
Federal government experience is desired.
A working knowledge of Jira projects, workflows, issue types, permissions, and notifications is preferred.
The candidate should have 2+ years of experience with Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and BitBucket.
A BS/BA in Computer Science, a Technical Field, or related disciplines is required, or 4+ years of experience supporting AWS.
Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and Architect with Google Cloud Platform: Infrastructure.
