Remote Cloud System Engineer I

Description:

• Seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer I to join GAMA-1's growing Cloud Services practice.
• The candidate will support customers' strategic initiatives aimed at increasing IT efficiency, improving IT delivery, and reducing costs.
• The successful candidate will have hands-on experience administering cloud technologies.
• Responsibilities include directing cloud administrative duties within a cloud environment, including compute, storage, notification and queue management, and infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• The role involves assembling and documenting agile-related artifacts, providing guidance on infrastructure movement techniques, and developing cloud business best practices and processes.
• The candidate will work directly with multiple teams to understand business needs and translate them into IT/business capabilities.
• Participation in UAT and development processes is required as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 8 years of experience administrating cloud compute, storage, and infrastructure as Code (IaC) is required.
• Proficiency in coding languages such as Perl, Java, PowerShell, PHP, Ruby, and Python is necessary.
• Hands-on experience with cloud services and containerization technologies, including building Docker Container Images and using scripting languages, is essential.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, code-defined infrastructure, configuration management tools, and CI/CD is required.
• Familiarity with AWS Lambda and “Serverless” systems is necessary.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise IT environments is preferred.
• Strong verbal and communication skills are required for working with senior leadership and across organizational teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in layman's terms, are essential.
• Excellent communication and writing skills are required.
• Federal government experience is desired.
• Working knowledge of Jira projects, workflows, issue types, permissions, and notifications is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and BitBucket is desired.
• A BS/BA in Computer Science, a Technical Field, or related disciplines, or 4+ years of experience supporting AWS is required.
• Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and Architect with Google Cloud Platform: Infrastructure.
• The position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance.

• The base salary range for this position is $106,703.56 - $150,413.45, determined by various factors including position responsibilities, geographic location, market conditions, and the candidate’s experience, education, and skills.
